Every Experience Is Worth Having

chasing experiences

Do you feel this urge to experience life to the fullest? Do you feel like you need to do more in life?

A lot of people have a bucket list with a lot of great things on that list. And they chase those things desperately. “I don’t need to buy a new car or have a fancy job, I want to have great experiences.”

When I stopped my habit of consumerism and got out of the rat race, that was my mentality. I was reading philosophy and personal development books, which gave me the inspiration to live differently.

I’m not alone. Millions of people all over the world are saying goodbye to traditional beliefs and prefer to live differently. They want to travel the world, enjoy the company of others, hike in the Andes, watch air balloons in Turkey, go surfing, you name it.

We’re chasing experiences. But we’re missing out on the real experience of life.

Past, Present, and Future: Use Time Perspectives to Live Better

time perspective

What does time mean to you? Depending on who you’ll ask, you get one of the following answers:

  • Time is money
  • Time is love
  • Time is play
  • Time is work
  • Time is a thing of the past

Your answer tells a lot about how you spend your time. That makes me think about something.

Why do we often carefully think before we spend our money but don’t do the same when we spend our time?

Do we value money more than time? If you look at all the inspirational quotes on social media, you would think everyone is conscious of their time. You often hear things like, “time is your most important asset,” and, “you can earn back money but you can’t earn back time.”

You Become What You Focus On

attention - what you Focus on

The following quote is 2000 years old. But it seems like it’s about today’s world: “Most of what passes for legitimate entertainment is inferior or foolish and only caters to or exploits people’s weakness.”

That’s from the Stoic philosopher Epictetus. It couldn’t be more telling about our attention and the things we focus on. We allow other people to control us because we’re pretty much defenseless when the media exploits our weaknesses.

Now, I’m not against all media. But I do think there’s a lot of manipulation going on. Just look at every single social media platform, news website, streaming site, and every app on your smartphone and you’ll notice that you and I are being exploited.

You just have to look at the signs. What do you think I will do when I see a notification from Netflix, saying there’s a new season available for my favorite show? I’m going to pause everything else in my life and watch the WHOLE season in a few days.

How To Get Repeat Customers For Your Business

repeat customers

Last year, 1,320 people bought one of my courses. And 54% of those sales came from existing customers. That’s massive. And this rate increased over time.

In business, you need to focus on the long-term. Getting new customers is important. But serving your existing customers well ensures that your business has a sustainable source of revenue.

It can cost five times more resources to attract a new customer, rather than retain an existing one. When you increase the retention rate by a mere 5%, your profit can go up from 25% to 95%. It’s simply more beneficial to retain existing customers than search for and pitch to new ones.
