Wise: Succeeding as a new writer
I know many of my readers have a desire to write a book. It’s something every person should do once in their life.
It’s such a rewarding creative process. But it’s also a solid career path these days.
So if you want to become a writer, how can you succeed? For many of us, success as a writer means that we can earn a good living with our work. That’s all. We don’t have a desire to become rich or famous.
Here’s one of the most important lessons I’ve learned about being a writer.
The most important thing is to serve your reader. Not all readers. But your reader. The people who spend their time and energy on reading your work.
One thing I often remind myself of is this: Without a reader, you’re not a writer.
Find your reader, and you’re a writer. And yes, that’s difficult. If it were easy, everybody would do it.

Blogging is a real career for many years now. Like many careers, there are people who earn millions of dollars, but there are also a lot of people who earn a decent living.
That’s how I got started too. I simply wanted to earn the same amount as I would at a corporate job. But since I love to write, I would be 10X more fulfilled.
When I started I saw a lot of “hacks” and tricks that should help you to succeed faster. That stuff hardly ever works. Keep the following in mind as you start any type of new endeavor.
Career success is not only about working harder or smarter. It’s also not about beating the competition. To succeed in your career, it’s much more rewarding to do things differently.
To do things in your own unique way. To be authentic. To be real.
That’s what others usually recognize and reward.
