Wise: Your life plan

Since 2015, I’ve been working on a life plan. Because with the right planning, you can avoid time-wasting and aimlessness.

To me, there are five main reasons why I plan my days, months, and years.

  1. More clarity—When I don’t know what to do, I procrastinate, waste my time, and feel bad.
  2. Saves time—When I think about what I want to do in advance, I’m more effective.
  3. Boosts creativity—Planning helps me come up with more creative things to do in my life. It also helps me come up with creative solutions to my challenges.
  4. Momentum—Planning helps me keep moving forward, so I hardly ever get stuck.
  5. Better thinking—The process of planning forces you to think hard about what you want to do, and how you’re going to do it. That will improve your thinking skills.

In this article, I will share how I do it, and what kind of impact this had on my life and career.

Wealthy: Financially stable

Spending less and earning more is easier said than done.

So one of the best ways to secure financial stability is to avoid the “I deserve this” mindset. Yes, you worked hard for your money. And that’s exactly why you deserve to not waste it.

You don’t need to try all the food trucks near the office, rush to the mall during a sale, or travel during holidays. Try not to spend money purely because of peer pressure. Instead, ask yourself:

“What do I truly want? And what small actions can I do to get it?”

That’s a more practical mindset. It also ensures you get what you want, and not what other people expect you to.

In my latest article, I talk about other ways you can have a more financially stable year — without being overly frugal.

One interesting thing

A quote from The Art of Possibility by Rosamund Stone Zander and Benjamin Zander:

“You are more likely to be successful, overall, if you participate joyfully with projects and goals and do not think your life depends on achieving the mark because then you will be better able to connect to people all around you. On the whole, resources are likely to come to you in greater abundance when you are generous and inclusive and engage people in your passion for life.”

I love this mindset.

Happy New Year!

Most people try to calculate their way out of poor finances. But money problems aren’t rational. They’re emotional. Manage your emotions well, and you’ll manage your finances better.
