Wise: Science-backed advice

It happens all the time. New scientific results get published and then experts use the research to give advice. A while later, it turns out the study wasn’t accurate.

But the advice remains. So, how do you know whether or not to listen to certain “science-backed” advice?

First, it’s important to remember that science is constantly evolving. What may be considered a fact today may be proven wrong tomorrow.

Second, not all scientific studies are created equal. While some research may have been conducted with high-quality methods and a large sample size, others may have flaws or limitations.

This is why it’s important to examine a study’s details. If it’s not comprehensive, only uses a small sample size, or just sounds too good to be true, it’s best to be cautious.

Wealthy: Delayed gratification

I have a love/hate relationship with impatience.

I love it because it has helped me to accomplish things in my career. When something needs to be done, I do it immediately. I just can’t wait.

But that approach is not helpful when it comes to your finances. To build proper wealth, you need patience.

You can read about investing and compounding as much as you want. But unless you don’t have the patience to let your money compound, you can never reap the benefits.

This is something I had to learn. To all my fellow impatient-natured people, learn the art of patience. It will help you immensely in life.

In my other new article, I talk more about how you can cultivate patience.

One interesting thing

A great quote from Arthur Schopenhauer’s The Wisdom of Life:

“Health outweighs all other blessings so much that one may really say that a healthy beggar is happier than an ailing king.”

Health is wealth.
