Wise: End-of-year thoughts
Here we are. It’s December and another year is almost coming to an end. Let me share a few general end-of-year thoughts with you.
Since 2015, when I started living a calmer and more mindful life, I’ve been taking time each year to reflect on the past year and look ahead to what’s next.
I tend to journal more than usual. Look back on the year and think about what I learned.
The funny thing is this: Every year, I look back and think, “A lot happened.”
That’s a good thing. I don’t want to look back and think the opposite, which means I didn’t do anything.

Wealthy: Investing principles
As I’m writing this, we’re still waiting for a recession that many pundits have been predicting for two years now.
Human behavior is driven by emotions. Which is why the economy and markets are not predictable.
I recently read Morgan Housel’s new book, Same As Ever, which is about all the things in the world that don’t change. After all, those are the only things we can really count on.
As Morgan writes, this is the reason we can’t predict the future:
“We are very good at predicting the future, except for the surprises—which tend to be all that matter.”
So for long-term investors, it’s best to look out for investing elements that never really change.
In my latest article, I share 4 things about investing that never change.

One interesting thing
A quote from my favorite Christmas movie, Elf, with Will Ferrell:
“I just like to smile. Smiling’s my favorite.”
Merry Christmas!

I created a 5-day email course you can do alone or together with a group. It’s called the Financial Freedom Challenge. And it will help you to gain control over your finances.
Most people try to calculate their way out of poor finances. But money problems aren’t rational. They’re emotional. Manage your emotions well, and you’ll manage your finances better.
How to Unlock the Financial Freedom Challenge
You can join the challenge for free. For five days, you’ll receive a short email with a small challenge that inspires you to improve your relationship with money.
I highly recommend sharing it with your friends/family so you can go through the program together. It helps bring perspective. And it’s more fun that way too.
